Dry Eye Disease (DED)

Dry Eye Disease (DED) is a chronic condition where your eyes don’t produce enough tears, or the tears evaporate too quickly.

Signs and Symptoms

What is Forma-I?

This innovative, nonsurgical procedure delivers bipolar radiofrequency (RF) to the meibomian glands to improve tear production. Heat energy melts the thick oil secretions that are clogging the meibomian glands. By breaking up the clogged oils, RF allows the oil to flow and prevent rapid evaporation of tears that can cause dry eye symptoms.

What is Lumecca-I?

Lumecca is intense pulsed light (IPL) which uses wavelengths of light to reduce inflammation around the eyes. It is also used to help improve function of the oil-producing meibomian glands. By unclogging the oil glands, IPL therapy helps to better lubricate the eyes and alleviate dry eye symptoms.

The Perfect Pair – Harnessing RF & IPL Together

Forma-I and Lumecca-I take different approaches in releasing blockages around the meibomian glands, and when used together, the perfect pair to a comprehensive treatment plan. One to encourage the flow of oils, while the other works to reduce inflammation and promote healing. Not only do the dual technologies of RF and IPL help to alleviate symptoms, but they also target the underlying causes of dry eye, offering longevity in treatment results.
